Premier Copacabana Hotel, Rio de Janeiro

The service, although very friendly and helpful for specific requests, had a hiccup when I paid for two rooms in full upon arrival for friends who were coming later, only to be woken up past midnight by the reception desk informing me that only one room had been paid for, which turned out to be a mistake. The staff did go above and beyond to ensure everything else was up to par, providing great room service, housekeeping, grocery shopping service, laundry, and a nice welcome drink when I checked in near Copacabana beach. The location was great, surrounded by excellent restaurants and just a 10-minute walk from the beach, although it may not be the best choice for novice Rio travelers. The hotel was OK with a small splash pool and great views of Christ the Redeemer, but I did feel a bit unsafe at times, and being cut off from WiFi after checkout wasn't the nicest touch. The dining experience was good overall, with average options that didn't leave a lasting impression, but the spread of fruit, pastries, cereal, and some hot foods was decent for a quick breakfast. The facilities were decent, providing all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The price and value for money were fair considering the offerings provided.
